As with every established grooming salon, I see many, many different dog breeds throughout the week. Everything from Affenpinschers to Xoloitzcuintlis (actually I haven’t had a Xoloitzcuintli in my salon in a long time, but you never know!)
It truly is amazing how many different dog breeds there are, and when you first start working as a dog groomer it can even be overwhelming!
But as you continue in the career, you’ll begin to see some dog breeds much more than others. I’m sure every groomer’s top 10 list would be different, but in this post I wanted to share the top 10 most common dog breeds I see in my salon.
Bichon Frise
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
German Shepherd
Golden Retriever
Maltese
Miniature Poodle
Miniature Schnauzer
Pomeranian
Shih Tzu
Yorkshire Terrier
Whenever a client brings one of those dogs into my salon for a bath/groom, they pay me from $55 to $120 or more!
And that's not including all the great tips my staff and I get on top of the regular price!
When you become a groomer, your top ten will probably be different than mine.
But one thing that won't be different is all the money you'll be making.
